Min Pin Rocky is a sweet, social, and affectionate seven-year-old male Miniature Pinscher who thrives on human attention. Often referred to in South Africa as a Min Pin or Miniature Pinscher, this lap dog wants nothing more than to be the centre of attention in his home. He absolutely loves visitors, eagerly welcoming anyone who is willing to give him scratches, loves, and pampering. Grown up around kids, Rocky generally enjoys playing with children and makes a wonderfully loving family companion.

Rocky gets along well with the dogs he currently lives with, although his socialization with unfamiliar dogs has been limited. He can be a little possessive of his humans’ attention and may give a low growl if another dog approaches while he is receiving affection. This is his way of communicating that he would rather keep the attention to himself. Slow, supervised introductions to unfamiliar dogs would therefore be important. He may particularly enjoy being an only dog or sharing his home with a younger, easy-going companion, as he may be less comfortable with older dogs.

This clever boy is fully toilet trained and very comfortable being home alone during the day. He happily keeps himself busy running and playing in the garden, chasing lizards, or giving a quick bark at passing birds. In the house, he is not a big barker and will simply scratch at the door when he wants to come back inside. Rocky does enjoy a warm bath, though he is not a fan of having his teeth brushed or his nails clipped. As a true home dog, car rides are a rare event for him, so he may feel a bit anxious during travel, but he remains completely unfazed by loud thunderstorms.

Rocky has a natural urge to explore, which means secure boundaries are essential as he may be a bit of an escape artist if a gate is left open. It is best to keep him safely behind closed doors whenever visitors arrive or gates are accessed. At bedtime, he loves sleeping in the bedroom, and during cold winter nights, there is nothing he enjoys more than cuddling up under the duvet right by your feet.
