Dachshund Female Chloe’s Profile
ADOPT Dachshund Female chloe
Finding the right calm and loving household to adopt Dachshund Female Chloe requires an appreciation for a companion who thrives on closeness, comfort, and quiet companionship. At 6 years old, Chloe is a gentle, relaxed little soul who simply wants to be near her people. She has spent her life as the cherished companion of an elderly owner and is deeply accustomed to having company throughout the day. Whether she is curled up beside you on the couch or quietly following you from room to room, Chloe’s greatest joy comes from feeling included as part of the family.
Chloe has a naturally protective nature and takes her role as a loyal companion seriously. She may bark at unfamiliar dogs and can take a little time to feel comfortable around new canine companions. While she has previously lived peacefully around cats, as she has matured she has developed a tendency to chase them, so careful introductions and management would be important. She is wonderful with children and has a sweet, affectionate temperament once she feels safe and settled in her environment.

As a devoted little companion, Chloe does not enjoy being left alone for long periods and may cry when separated from her people. She is highly food motivated, which makes building trust and encouraging positive routines much easier. Chloe has lived in a home with a swimming pool her entire life and, although she prefers to stay dry and avoids the water, she can swim if needed. She enjoys the comforts of indoor living and will happily sleep either in bed with her family or curled up in her own bed, depending entirely on her mood for the evening.
Chloe has not had much experience walking on a leash and will need a patient family willing to gently introduce her to the world of walks and outings at her own pace. She would flourish in a calm, understanding home where companionship and routine are valued. With her elderly owner sadly moving into a no-pet residence, Chloe urgently needs a loving new home before the end of May 2026. She can also be considered for adoption together with her sister Bonnie for the right experienced household. Adopt Dachshund female Chloe!
The Ideal Match
- A calm, loving home where someone is around for much of the day.
- Owners who appreciate a relaxed companion who enjoys quiet companionship and affection.
- A patient household willing to slowly build her confidence with leash walking.
- A secure home environment where introductions to other dogs are managed thoughtfully.
- A family who will allow her to sleep indoors and remain a cherished part of daily life.
- Owners who understand that food motivation is the quickest way to Chloe’s heart.

Sibling Consideration
Chloe is eligible for a joint placement with her sibling, Bonnie. While the sisters currently share a peaceful and harmonious bond, Small Dog Adoptions always prioritizes the long-term emotional wellbeing and individual confidence of every companion.
We remain mindful of “Sibling Rivalry” and “Littermate Syndrome” — behavioural patterns where bonded siblings can become overly dependent on one another, potentially impacting their ability to fully integrate with their human family and develop confidence independently. Although Chloe and Bonnie currently show no concerning signs of this behaviour, we generally recommend separate placements to allow each dog the opportunity to flourish individually.
However, for a calm, experienced household that understands the dynamics of bonded siblings and can provide balanced structure, guidance, and individual attention, a joint adoption may be considered upon consultation.
