Adoption Success Story Luna & Molly ~ A Shared Journey Home
When Luna (a Collie cross GSD) and Molly (a Collie cross Retriever) were first listed for adoption on 18 June 2026, each girl was featured on her own individual profile. Although we were prepared to consider separate homes if necessary, finding a loving family who could welcome both girls together was always the dream scenario.
While their individual profiles allowed us to introduce each girl and assess potential matches, Luna and Molly remained together in their original home while the right placement was being sought. This allowed them to continue living in familiar surroundings, without the disruption of kennels or unnecessary separation.
When their surrendering family later faced a firm deadline to move out by the end of the month, their placement suddenly became time-sensitive. We immediately stepped up the search for their new home, and that is when Lana and her family came forward. They didnโt just want one dog โ they were thrilled to welcome both Luna and Molly together.
Following a smooth, low-stress meet-and-greet, the official handover took place on 26 July 2026. Moving directly from their original home into Lanaโs, both girls completely bypassed the stress and disruption of traditional shelter kennels.

Upon arrival, Luna and Molly were welcomed by an instant pack: a resident Collie sibling to bond with and two wonderful children ready for endless backyard adventures. Their transition has been nothing short of magical. From exploring their new surroundings to establishing a sweet nightly routine where Lanaโs son tenderly tucks both girls into bed, both girls have embraced their new life with complete trust.
We are honoured to have facilitated this beautiful placement and, most importantly, to have helped Luna and Molly begin their new chapter together โ exactly as we had hoped.
Luna & Molly were originally listed for adoption on 18 June 2026, and were successfully placed in their loving new Gauteng home on 26 July 2026. You can read more about their initial placement criteria on the original profile link. Luna’s Profile and Molly’s Profile.
